Three Wheeled Buggies
If you're looking for a buggy to jog with or just a nifty stroller to tackle neighbourhood walks, three wheeled buggies provide great mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver even in tight places.
If you are looking for an easy ride in your baby, opt for models with 360deg front wheels that swivel. However, they are prone to punctures, so make sure you are prepared with a repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
Recent figures have been released showing that the three-wheeled buggy which was a symbol of the decade of more money than sense - is in steep decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more versatile and easier to drive and look fashionable.
The larger the wheels are, the better your buggy will cope with uneven surfaces and bumpy pavements. With larger wheels front and back also makes it much easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy out with a newborn baby and a toddler and found it extremely durable. It handled grass, cobbles and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it is sturdy to push and is very stable when you're on rough terrain. The tyres, that are inflatable and require to be pumped up regularly, have built-in suspension. This was extremely comfortable for my kids.
3 wheeled pushchairs and shape of the seat is a further factor to consider. You want the seat to be big enough for your child to be comfortable and allow them to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies have a full lie-flat option while others will only allow a parent facing one.
The Roma Atlas is a great option for off-road or wet walks. The buggy can be used as a single from birth, and then expands to take two children when your family expands. It is suitable for babies and toddlers until age four and comes with a bumper bar, raincover, a better 5-point harness, and a large padded seat unit. Storage options are also good with a large storage basket and zip pockets on the hood and an extra pouch at the rear of seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels will give your buggy more stability when driving over rough terrain. This is ideal for buggies that are off-road. They also help you navigate the pushchair through tight spaces. Some three-wheeled buggies come with swivel wheels on the front to aid in maneuvering around tight corners. Others are designed to run and have fixed wheels that lock for greater speed and stability. This also helps in the event that you hit the roots of a tree or stray curb, since the front wheel will lift up a bit to prevent you from hitting it.
A lot of 3 wheel pushchairs have air-filled tyres, which means they are able to handle different terrains and are much more adaptable than 4-wheelers. They are also lighter. They are more prone to punctures, and you'll need to have a repair kit and spare inner tube in your arsenal.
Our top 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. Both of these buggies come with larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to effortlessly move up and down kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that according to her "smoothes out bumps extremely effectively".
Buggies with larger wheels can be quite large, and can be difficult to fit in tight spaces. This is a problem especially if you're using it to an exercise bike or to be able to get through doors that are narrow when out and out and about. Many models have small folding options that let you remove the front wheels and store them more compactly.
Easy to Manoeuvre
One of the major advantages to a three wheel buggy is that it's much more maneuverable especially with a child in tow. The way they are constructed means that the front wheels spin on a dime and are incredibly easy to maneuver and are ideal for difficult terrains like cobbles, parks or bumpy pavements, as well as dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried the 3-wheeler with her toddler. she wrote: "The Terrain is a pleasure to drive on uneven terrain. The swivel wheel in the front was especially useful." I was also impressed with the way it handled kerbs with the hand-operated break. It was very stable going downhill or on uneven terrain."
The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the 3 wheel buggy's larger wheels sometimes mean it has to struggle in tight spaces - something to consider especially if you live in a metropolitan area. If this is the case then a four-wheeled buggy might be a better option for you.

Bumper bars can shield your child from bumps and scrapes when out and about. These bumper bars are simple to install and will make your child feel secure and safe while out and about.

The sturdy construction and sturdy design will ensure that your child is capable of enjoying a stroll through the city without fear of falling or leaning towards the side.
The sling seat made of fabric sits comfortably inside the frame as opposed to on top of it like modular seats do, providing the lowest center of gravity at the right height for your infant and also providing excellent weight distribution for easy kerb pop (it requires less effort to push a buggy up and over a curb than you might think). MFM reviewer Kath said it was ideal on cobbles and grass. It's also a great alternative for running, thanks to its tyres that are filled with air and a lockable swivel wheel.

Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy is the best off-road vehicle to maneuver and performance. This kind of buggy is easy to steer and can turn on a dime with its perfect geometry engineering, as well as weight distribution.
The Sport's clever design places the fabric sling seat inside the frame, rather than on top like modular seats. This lets it have a lower center of gravity, which means it is easier to push, has a less weighty curb-pop (you will not need to exert the same effort to raise the buggy's nose over the curb) and provides more stability and balance. With the 16" rear wheels, the lockable front wheel, and tyres that are air-filled, you can enjoy a smoother, more comfortable jogging.
The only stroller in our range that comes with a parent-facing seat that can also accommodate the car seat or carrycot, you can make sure your family is prepared for every adventure starting from the very first day and for years to be!
It's not the only reason you should love this buggy - our MFM reviewer Kath was impressed by how spacious it is as well. There's a large easy-to-access basket that's surprisingly roomy for a buggy of this size, plus there's a handy zipped pouch at the back of the seat unit and even 2 smaller mesh pockets inside the hood for your phone and keys.
